Just got my hands on a cherry tree and new to cutting my own turning blanks . I have a new gallon of anchorseal and have the ends of the logs sealed . But should i go ahead and cut these logs up into blanks and seal them or just leave them in log form until i am ready to use? i do not have a band saw but have a chainsaw and can cut them up into squares. If i cut them up into blanks and seal them completely what is the shelf life of the blanks ?

I can't help you, I've never had cherry wood. If it were mine, I'd chainsaw them up into blanks, to include cutting the corners off... and seal the whole blank, storing it inside. Then I'd rough-turn it green and experiment with the soap and alcohol methods of keeping them from cracking.
